Jabberwocky? I covered this earlier in my journal, but it's a new poetry / short fiction anthology, that I'm preparing for Readercon. Contributions by Lewis Carroll, Sarah Koplik, Tim Pratt, Ekaterina Sedia, Sonya Taaffe, Gemma Files, Mike Allen, Holly Phillips, Ann K. Schwader, Shirl Sazynski, JoSelle Vanderhooft, Elizabeth Wein, Theodora Goss, Vera Nazarian, Anna Tambour, Catherynne M. Valente, Jane Yolen, Stephanie Burgis, Veronica Schanoes, Catherynne M. Valente, Sarah Singleton, Lila Garrott, Andrew Bonia, Ainsley Dicks, Greer Gilman, Marie Brennan, and Jeannelle M. Ferreira.
I don't quite recall what prompted this, except that I remember a certain editor bragging about his poetry collections selling one hundred units. I think I was horrified, generally, and may have said something to that effect. This prompted the statement that poetry doesn't sell, that one would be lucky to sell just a hundred—something which I've wanted to disprove for the longest time. This, by no means, was the only reason for starting Jabberwocky up, though.
It doesn't take up that much time, really. The art is public domain. The design is relatively simple. It's done only twice a year. And I have someone helping me out.
The only pressure, currently, is proving that I can sell 300 to 500 units, per my sales goal, for this volume . . .
