I caught some flak on this mockup, by the shocklines community, as they demanded something a bit more appropriate to their narrow small press market, but since this is meant to sell thousands of copies, not a few hundred . . . I say screw 'em. This is just a preliminary draft (I'll let my designers take a whack at it later this year):

i felt that a lot of the comments there were strangely elitist...
llike you should bend over backwards for the same one hundred people or so for every book you do, and OF COURSE it should look EXACTLY the same as every overpriced fifty copy ultra limited first novel they're buying this week.
